Kiddie Pool mishap!
Well, it's July and we finally managed to make it to the Kiddie pool. Not long after we got there, poor Genevieve wiped out on the concrete. She skinned most of her nose, her toes and knees and got the lovely fat lip. Poor thing. She has had the most boo-boo's of the girls already at this age.
Obviously she is feeling better, even though the nose doesn't look better. Her lip is much better though!!

Lady Buggy!
The Kramers gave Genevieve this adorable little buggy. She refuses to push it much and got really mad when we put Tommy in, but look at what she prefers!!

Fourth of July!
We got to go to a fun-fair at the local Baptist church and had a ton of fun! The girls played games and got their faces painted. Genevieve was decked out in her red, white, and blue!

June 2008
June has proved to be just as busy of a month as May. Although School was technically done on the 5th, things did not slow down much.

Adina was awarded the Citizenship Award at school! Quite an honor as only 4 kids a year are given it from each class. Basically it was an award for being a well rounded citizen. She was so proud of her self as were we all!

We had VBS at the beginning of June as well! My friend Barb and I did the decorating. It was a lot of fun and we even got some help from our girls when they were feeling cooperative. The theme was SonHarvest (farming). On the last day we had a lady from furry friends come with all sorts of animals for the kids to pet. Check out all the cool pics in the slideshow at right.

One day Adina and Madison asked if they could play in the puddles outside. I said sure, sounds like fun! Boy did I learn my lesson! Guess I should have asked what kind of puddles!

My sister, Jesse and her wonderful boyfriend Brad (yes, your "OK" Brad) came to visit this month too! Which was especially special! We hadn't seen them since last August and Jesse leaves for Boot Camp for the Army Reserves in 14 days!! So, we enjoyed our time with them. You can thank Jesse for all these posts. She wanted updated pictures before she left! They had a lot of fun playing with the girls - hide and seek, bike riding, playing softball, playing Wii fit and even helping pick out Donovan's fathers day gift! Come back soon guys!

Madison, Genevieve and I went to Burger King with our friends Becky, Jennifer and their boys one day. Mostly for the play equipment than for the food. Anyhow, Becky decided Genevieve should go down the slide so she climbed all the way up to the top with her. If you turn up the sound on this video, you can hear Michael in hysterics because he does NOT want Becky to go down the slide! He is certain she will get stuck! And of course Becky, being Becky, laughs and laughs.

And of course they biggest excitement for us was Genevieve's 1st Birthday!! She was terribly sick, unfortunately, she had been running a fever so we pumped her full of Motrin and got her down for a nap. As soon as she woke up we had a quick party for her. She did really well with cake and seemed to enjoy the attention! We ended up having a nice time it was us and Marsha (Donovan's mom). The girls did the Limbo, played peek-a-boo with Genevieve and Charades. Genevieve even got on the floor and was trying to copy them! All the pictures we took are in the slide show to the right.

We had a little fun sucking on lemons to see who could make the funniest face! Genevieve's face had me in hysterics because it was so prolonged! And probably because she was the unsuspecting victim of the lemon!
Her Principal Mrs. Walker presented her with the award.
This is her 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Mistarz (took us about 6 weeks to say that right).

Adina played Instructional Softball for the very first time. She never even played t-ball before. We gave Soccer a try a couple years ago and she quickly came to the conclusion that she couldn't believe people would actually run like that for fun!!! So, we gave Softball a try and she did great! She has a lot of natural talent and kept up very well, especially since she played with some girls going into 4th grade that had played for 3 years! She was catcher a couple of games and my favorite picture is this one where she looked over and Donovan gave her a thumbs up. I happened to click the picture at the same time. There are more pictures on the side in a slide show!
Adina also got a fun gift during the week from her good friend Annnaliece! Check out Michael and Daniel as they model for us.
She obviously came down the other way to save Michael any more scares, look how relieved he is to see his mommy down safe and sound!
May 2008
Well, once again it has been a while so we will try and catch up! All though I have not put in any posts, I have taken PLENTY of pictures! May was a busy month.

She also wrapped up a great 1st soccer season (see slideshow on side). She has proved to be a natural. She was hesitant at first and would stop if anyone would come up to her on the field. Finally, Donovan (the coach!) called her over to the side of the field and told she was allowed to steal the ball! Turns out she was afraid to because in practice he had told them not to take the ball from each other! She thought she wasn't supposed to take it from anyone! She ended up being quite a force out on the field.
Donovan was honored in Chicago. He was inducted into the Honor Society, I forget the exact name (so does he). We weren't able to go to Chicago as a family for the ceremony, but Madison went with him! They had a great day at North Park University! You can see all the pictures Madison took at the bottom slide show!
Genevieve, with her adventureous spirit got her first black eye! I am sure the first of many and of course turned 11 months old! She started walking at about 10 1/2 months as well! Yay, Genevieve!

Adina finished up her school year with an Alphabet count down. The last 26 days of school were represented by an alphabet letter. A couple of the fun days were:

Very Fun Field Day:

Wacky Hair day: It is amazing how long Kool-aid will stay in the hair! The picture doesn't quite do it justice. But they both had red and blue hair. There is still a tint of red and blue as we scoot into July! We used Madison as a guinea pig and did her hair first to see if it would work! She is a very good sport.

May also brings Beautiful Flowers!! These were taken at a park we call "Butterfly Park!" Unfortunately, Adina was in school and by the weekend the flowers were done blooming, so we only got Madison and Genevieve. Next year I'll get all 3! I hope.
Madison finished her second year of Happy Hands Preschool! One more year to go as she misses the Kindergarten cut off by 2 days! I am just happy to get her home with me for 1 more year!
Disco Day: (Adina the Hippie Chic)

One Enchanted Evening...
As we wrap up our dance season the girls get to show us their stuff with a dance recital!!! We have had 3 LONG evenings packed full of dance. Dress rehearsal from 4-9 on Thursday, Madison's Dance Recital on Friday and Adina's dance recital on Saturday. And boy, are we glad to be done!
Madison LOVES performing, she loves the hair, the sparkles, the make-up and getting up on the stage to strut her stuff.

She had no issues "hamming" it up for the camera.
This one just cracks me up! Her smile totally reminds me of Shirley Temple! Bubba, you should be proud, you always said you wanted her to dance and sing like Shirley!!!
She loved her presentation boquet and rose from Grammie (who couldn't make it)!
Family Picture! Adina was hiding intentionally. We were so glad that Bubba and Papa could come (Donovan's mom and dad). Marsha had a horrible accident at work with a lift and crushed her legs. She is so fortunate that she didn't get hurt worse! You cannot tell by the smile on her face that she is in pain!!! Thanks for coming guys.
Grandma Wahl came all the way from Minnesota for the big event. Notice her pretty tan! I told her she can take us to Florida with her any time!Saturday was Adina's big night! She on the other hand is not as crazy about the hair, make-up, and sparkles! (or so she likes to pretend) I think she secretly likes the way she looks but doesn't want to admit it.
She was so funny when I would put the lipstick on her she would talk with her lips poking out because she didn't like the way the lipstick felt...or the eyeshadow or the bobby pins or the way the glitter spray smelled, etc, etc...

"I ALREADY SMILED ONCE, STOP TAKING MY PICTURE!"
This is Adina's good friend Gen(evieve). Who would have guessed one of her best friends would have the same name as her baby sister! Adina met Gen the week before our Genevieve was born! This is how Adina should have looked after the show, but she didn't want me taking any pictures of her in it, so she changed before I could get to her! That's my girl!!
Adina said she wanted chocolate and flowers, so Madison got very creative and stuck Rolos in these flowers for Adina
Will we ever get the family picture with every one looking the same place???
Madison was very proud of Adina's performance!
Bubba and Papa again
Grandma Wahl again! Can you tell our temperature dropped by 20 degrees in 2 days?
